Where to begin? What to say?
I know what it is to hear your parents’ fight in the room below your feet and the fear that filled your heart when you heard a plate smash of the ground in the heat of their argument.
I know what its’ like to go to a new school and be aware that it is only a matter of time before the other 600 pupils in that place are going to eat you alive.
I know what it feels like to see the disappointment in your dads’ face when he resigns to the signs and believes that his son is going to be a failure for the rest of his life.
I know the sensation of ridicule and hostility while being in the presence of people that you believe are “cooler” than you.
I know the heartbreak created by the rejection of a person that you believe that you love more than anything in this world.
I know what it like to treat someone in a cruel manner and to take there love and kindness for granted.
I know the hurt of watching a close friend die in their youth of disease that takes everything that they loved away from them.
Finally, I know the loneliness that can be found in the belief that this day could be your last.
The Hebrew writer tells us, (Heb. C13, V5) that the Lord Jesus Christ says that, “…I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee”. It is within this promise of Christ’s I have found that although I have experienced painful times, that I don’t need to walk alone.
I believe that similar situations , if not the same, will be an experience within my Christian years but this time the Lord Jesus will be with me to bare the burden.
So the question I ask you young person is who can you turn to in your time of suffering and need? The answer is found in a person! A person who was willing to take all of the pain, accusations and mistakes of the above and nail them to them to His cross. Jesus Christ is your answer!! His offer is open to you now; ask him to live in your heart and to feel what it’s like to truly be alive.
What will your decision be?
